CSH 4 mile Cross Country Championship Results

On 15^th Dec the CSH 4 mile Cross Country Championship was revived on a tough course in the Phoenix Park. The route was twice around a mucky 2 mile loop from the club house. 1^st for the men was Martin Prunty, with John Ryan in 2nd place followed by Eoin Kealy. First woman home was Shirley Mitchell (placing 6^th overall in the race), followed by Lisa Murphy and Ann Horan. Some notable non finishers were Angie McElligot and Dave Hipwell due to injuries on the day – I am sure they will have a go again next year while all the others will defend their titles. Prize giving followed later that night at the club Christmas party.

Civil Service Harriers Athletic Club is a running club based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and was officially founded in 1867, making it Ireland’s oldest athletic club. However, these days you don’t have to be a Civil Servant to join the club. The club is comprised of runners of all levels and abilities who meet and run in the Phoenix Park.
