Well done to the 27 runners from CSH who competed in the 1st BHAA XC race of 2013 which was hosted by South Dublin Co. Co. in Tymon Park. Conditions were great for XC with the surface perfect on the entire course. CSH had 7 members compete in the 2mile ladies race with Angie McElligot first home for CSH in 13:30mins, 2nd was Lauryn Evans in 14:27mins followed closely by Claire Egan in 14:28mins. In the mens 4mile race there were 20 CSH members with Paul Cowhie 1st home in 22:59mins (9 overall and 1st in category) followed by David Hipwell in 24:06mins and then Seamus O’Sullivan in 24:52mins. Congrats also to other prize winners, Tom Turner 2nd in category and Brendan Earley who was 1st in his category. See you all at the next BHAA race on 19th Jan in Ballyboden St Enda GAA club.

Civil Service Harriers Athletic Club is a running club based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and was officially founded in 1867, making it Ireland’s oldest athletic club. However, these days you don’t have to be a Civil Servant to join the club. The club is comprised of runners of all levels and abilities who meet and run in the Phoenix Park.
