Great Ireland Run – (2017 #13+14)

Well done to all CSH’ers training and competing this week.


Congratulations to Grainne Butler who was 13th overall yesterday in the BHAA DCC 2mile in St. Anne’s Park yesterday. Grainne won her F50 category, super running. Well done to Margaret Moloney also who was 2nd F55 home. Paul Cowhie was equally impressive in the mens 4 mile race, finishing in 7th place and winning his M50 category. Thomas Moloney was 5th M55, with Tom Turner having a great race in 2nd M70. The ever-improving Paul McEvoy was in action finishing 7th M60. Well done to our ladies team in action today in the 2017 Great Ireland Run. Ashley Pia Ryan was first of the girls home in 25th (8th SF) in an impressive 41:41, great running by Ashley. Brid Ryan was next in 52nd (18th SF). Brid was followed closely by Mairead O’Saughnessy in 53rd (19th SF), well done to Bris and Mairead. Orla Cox was 33rd F40, another fine run, Orla was followed by Rosemary Duffy 69th SF. Maria Pozzo was 43rd F40. Marie Norris had a great run finishing 32nd F45, in a new pb time of 49:26. It was pbs galore for the mens. Neil O’Rourke was first of our men home, finishing 26th overall in a massive new pb time of 32:56 with Patrick Coyle 51st SM in a new pb time of 36:13, well done to Neil and Podge. Eanna Kavanagh was in flying form also in 67th SM with Patrick O’Reilly 46th M35 in a new pb time of 37:54. Patrick was followed closely by Sean Ryan, 4th M55, in a time of 38:02, also a pb for Sean. Well done to Kevin Clarke and Keith Farrell who were 29th M45 & 111th M35 respectively. Civil Service Harriers A.C.

Civil Service Harriers Athletic Club is a running club based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and was officially founded in 1867, making it Ireland’s oldest athletic club. However, these days you don’t have to be a Civil Servant to join the club. The club is comprised of runners of all levels and abilities who meet and run in the Phoenix Park.
