Great turn out for the BHAA Irish Life XC Race

Well done to the 28 runners for CSH who competed in the BHAA Irish Life race last Saturday in Santry. It was a cold morning on a very testing 4 lap cross country course. First man home for the club was Paul Cowhie, followed by David Hipwell and Seamus O’Sullivan. First lady home was Shirley Mitchell followed by Lisa Murphy and then Ann Horan. Plenty of prizes were collected by CSH members on the day with category prizes as follows : Paul Cowhie – 2nd, David Hipwell – 3rd, Tom Turner – 2nd, Shirley Mitchell – 1st, Fiona Byrne – 2nd and team prizes as follows : Manufacturing B (Tony Keegan, Paul Cullen, Brian Doyle) – 3rd in C Class and Retail (Owen McFeely) – 1st in D Class. Civil Service Harriers A.C.

Civil Service Harriers Athletic Club is a running club based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and was officially founded in 1867, making it Ireland’s oldest athletic club. However, these days you don’t have to be a Civil Servant to join the club. The club is comprised of runners of all levels and abilities who meet and run in the Phoenix Park.
