Sample training schedule*
Location can vary from a 800m route across the road from the clubhouse during winter months to other locations within the park:
5 x 1mile with 2min recovery or 6 x 800 with recovery or 8 x 1km with 2 min recovery
During winter months we generally do 6-8 mile pace run starting at the Clubhouse and running outside the park towards Chapelizod. When evenings get brighter we train within the Park in various locations including around the Polo Grounds.
Saturday sessions can vary depending on time of year. During cross country season training sessions will usually be on what is known as the “Munich Mile” which is an off road loop beside the Magazine Fort in the Phoenix Park.
*The number of reps and distances will depend on your level. Whilst the A group may do 8 x 1km, the C group may to 4 x 1km.
