Success at BHAA BOI Beach Race

Well done to the 23 CSH members who competed in the BHAA BOI Beach 6k race last Saturday. First man home for the club was Seamus O’Sullivan in 22:31 followed by Martin Prunty in23:19 and then Eoin Kealy in 23:39. First woman home was Shirley Mitchell in 26:59 and then Maire Norris in 27:36 followed closely by Fiona Byrne in27:48. As usual there was close competition between the CSH members with 6sec separating Eoin Kealy, Mark Lenehan and Andy Davies. Running very close together was Paul Cullen and Owen McFeely in 24:33 and 24:45 respectively. Another tough duel was the battle between Joe Chaney and Keith Farrell in 30:23 and 30:32 respectively. Congrats to Shirley Mitchell and Fiona Byrne who were both 2nd in their categories. Well done also to Stephen Downey who was on the Aer Lingus team who won 1st place in the D category. See you all at the next race – Irish Life XC in Santry in two weeks time.

 

Civil Service Harriers A.C.

Civil Service Harriers Athletic Club is a running club based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and was officially founded in 1867, making it Ireland’s oldest athletic club. However, these days you don’t have to be a Civil Servant to join the club. The club is comprised of runners of all levels and abilities who meet and run in the Phoenix Park.
