What a day at the Garristown 10k – the Windmill Ru What a day at the Garristown 10k – the Windmill Run & Dublin 10k Championship! ☀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
Brilliant performances across the board with an incredible haul of medals to show for it 🏅🙌 A fantastic turnout, glorious sunshine, and some seriously impressive racing made it another great day for the club.
Huge congratulations to everyone who took part – your effort and energy made it a fantastic occasion 👏🎉

Last weekend we had a celebratory morning in the c Last weekend we had a celebratory morning in the club where we recognised two members with Honorary membership of Civil Service Harriers.
Willie Devine known to many of us has been a member of the club for 60 years with a very impressive athletics record along with a stellar work on committies, coaching and support over the years. Willie was a man of few words yesterday but did tell us he was instrumental in the extension of the club about 1999 where we have the ladies changing rooms and bar extension area now.
Liam Hennessy who had a great record in the early 1970s with the club citing some impressive achievements in races. He then moved on to have very significant contributions to athletics in Ireland over several decades. Among them serving as President of Athletics Ireland from 2008 to 2012 and organising many major international events in Ireland, including the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin, the European Team Championships, and the World Cross Country Championships in both Dublin and Limerick.
Very well deserved to you both and we are honoured to have you as club members. Thank you to Leonie, Barry, Sinead and all who organised the morning along with the captains and coaches for a great run out on the trails beforehand.
We've had a great spring of racing so far, on road We've had a great spring of racing so far, on road, track and cross country. 
Our runners have been in action in the 5k in Tallaght, the half marathon in Bohermeen, the HOKA and Run Hub relay at Porterstown, the National Masters Cross Country Championships at Abbotstown and the Dunboyne 10k. We also had fantastic marathon runs by Jason Reilly in Seville (2:28) and by Eamonn Rohan in Rome (3:40). 
Well done all, keep up the good work into the summer! Thankfully with the clocks going forward we're back to training in the daylight on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.

As the new year starts, we're welcoming new member As the new year starts, we're welcoming new members to our club.
Our training starts at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9am. You're more than welcome to come along to our clubhouse in the Phoenix Park (D08 VK09) to try a couple of structured training sessions out before you decide to join.
Your membership includes coached sessions three times a week along with our long run on Sundays (Don't forget the post-run coffee!). We have targeted races for all levels, from 5km to marathon, along with beginner-friendly BHAA races and cross-country races in the winter. We are more than just a running club, we're a community with coffee mornings, club races, Christmas and Summer parties. We look forward to you joining and enjoying the benefits of our club in the heart of the Phoenix Park.
And no, these days you don't need to be a Civil Servant to join! We're called that for historical reasons. Our members come from all walks of life.

Yesterday a hardy group of Civil Service Harriers Yesterday a hardy group of Civil Service Harriers athletes and their supporters braved freezing cold temperatures at the Dublin Intermediate and Masters Championships in St Anne's Park. It was a great day for the club, with runners in all 6 of the races. Congratulations to Vincent O'Neill (Gold M70 🥇), Fiona Byrne (Silver, W60 🥈) and Gemma Treacy (Bronze, W45) who all won championship medals in their races. It was a great day of running, with our teams doing well and some great individual performances across all the races.
Well done to all our runners. Thanks to the captains Gemma and Adrian who organised the race registration, to our coaches Paul and Nick, and to everyone who helped with the canapy setup, provided the much appreciated tea, coffee and treats, and everyone who supported our runners and our photographers Laura and Gareth.

We had a great morning today for our end-of year c We had a great morning today for our end-of year cross country race and awards. We also commemorated the 100th anniversary of the club being re-formed following the Civil War. 
Well done to all our runners, supporters and helpers on the day, in what were testing cross country conditions!

Congratulations to all the club members who took p Congratulations to all the club members who took part in the Dublin Marathon on Sunday, you should be proud of what you achieved. It took a lot of hard work and sacrifice, many long runs and tough speed sessions to get to that finish line.
The Dublin marathon is both the National Championship and the Dublin championship.
Special mention must go to our two championship winners. 
Ronan Ward (picture 1) as well as being National Champion is Dublin Champion also in his category🥇
Orla Cox (picture 2) came 3rd 🥉in the Dublin Championship for her category. 
Well done to you both 👏🥳🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍♂️‍➡️👏 Fantastic achievements.

Well done to our hardy group of runners - and our Well done to our hardy group of runners - and our perhaps hardier group of spectators - who braved the tail end of Storm Amy to come to our club race and coffee morning today. Conditions were character-building, to say the least! 
Some great performances were put down in challenging conditions. Well done to the winners: our first man Jay Bowen, and our first woman, Marianne Gormley. Great preparation for the cross country season ahead.

All roads led to Lucan on Sunday morning, for the All roads led to Lucan on Sunday morning, for the staging of the @lucanharriers 5 Mile Road Race, which also served as the Dublin 5 Mile Championships. We had a huge turnout from the club, with 28 members competing, and others who came as spectators to lend their encouragement and support.
The muggy conditions made running quite tough, but at least there was some cloud cover and not much wind. Thankfully the rain stayed away for the race itself, with the first drops falling just as the prize-giving was wrapping up. Our runners put in some fantastic performances, winning both individual prizes and team prizes in the Dublin Championships.
Stephen Mutuku was our first man to cross the line, followed by Eoin Condron. Gemma Treacy was our first woman to finish, with our next woman finisher being Ciara Rooney.
Our athletes added plenty more silverware to their already groaning mantelpieces. Vincent O'Neill took the 1st prize in the M70 category, and in the Dublin Championships for that category. Sean Ryan was 1st in the Dublin Championships M60 category (2nd M60 overall), while Gemma Treacy won first place in the F45 Dublin Championships (3rd F40 overall). Staying with the Dublin Championships, Caroline Corrigan was 3rd in the F35 category, Michael Fennell was 3rd in the M65 section, while Clodagh Vahey took 2nd place in the F55 category.
In the open teams event, our ladies team of Gemma Treacy, Ciara Rooney, Caroline Corrigan and Maria Pozo (who was guiding Eoin Sheehy), took 3rd place.
We swept the board in the Dublin Championships teams events. Sean Ryan, Noel Ryan and Vincent O'Neill won 1st place in the M50+ category. Our ladies team of Gemma Treacy, Ciara Rooney and Caroline Corrigan were runners-up in the F Senior category. Our M35+ team of Eoin Condron, Jay Bowen, Gareth Horgan and Declan Cassells took 2nd place. In the F35+ category, our team of Caroline Corrigan, Maria Pozo, Clodagh Vahey and Monika Rajca, also took second place.

The Frank Duffy 10 Mile race, our annual club race The Frank Duffy 10 Mile race, our annual club race, took place in the Phoenix Park today. Our members were out in their droves, marshalling the course as nearly 4,000 runners took part in the event, which forms part of the @dublinmarathon race series. 
Our chairperson Barry Ryan presented the prizes to the top 3 men and women:
