Raheny 5 mile 2010
By ORLA COX
There was a break from cross country racing this week with a number of club members taking to the road instead for the Raheny 5 mile. This is typically a fast race and attracts some of the best athletes in the country. This year was no exception and resulted in a great race for spectators with five runners battling it out all the way to the final turn. There was also a fine selection of Nike Vaporfly shoes on display.
It was also great day of running for CSHers. Jason Reilly had a fantastic run, finishing in 58th place with a new PB time of 26:15. There was a PB also for Eanna Kavanagh who finished in 27:32. Great running lads. Next home was Sean Ryan in 30:49 and second in his age category. Well done Sean. Paul Foran also had a great run finishing in 31:00, followed closely by Colm Brady in 31:16 and Jason Harte in 31:39. Siobhan Carroll was first lady home, finishing in 33:05. Well done Siobhan. Brian Boland was next with a finishing time of 33:10, followed by Aislinn Ahern in 33:35. Finola Fitzsimons then finished in 35:29, 5th in her age category. Well done to everyone racing.
